Fishtek have now completed the construction drawings for the ‘Living Heritage of the River Don’ fish pass project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Baileys are constructing the fish passes on behalf of Don Catchment Rivers Trust and they are making good progress at the first of five sites. We captured the following photos at a recent site meeting at Steelbank weir. The two flight Larinier fish pass with intermediate resting pool will significantly improve habitat connectivity for most species, and in combination the five fish passes will promote the return of migratory salmonids to the mid-upper reaches of the River Don.
