A core part of the work that we are able to deliver is the niche engineering design that we perform as part of fish pass projects. We have been doing more of this work over the last few years, together with an increasing amount of project management. As a result of this increase, we have recently recruited a new member to the Fishtek team – Mike Lakin.

Mike is a highly experienced Chartered Engineer with full corporate membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. He graduated from the University of Salford with a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering in 1988.

To date, his portfolio of projects notably include dams, weirs, pumping stations, culverts, fish passes, sea walls and a variety of building structures spanning a 27-year career in design & project management of capital works. He has previously worked for the National Rivers Authority, Halcrow (an EA framework consultant) and latterly Weymouth & West Dorset District Councils.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome Mike to the team and he brings an extremely wide range of skills to Fishtek, which will be invaluable in on the engineering side of the work we conduct, as well as helping us expand into new areas.
