We have recently completed delivery of a project on a gauging weir on the Welsh Dee. The Environment Agency were repairing one of their gauging weirs, which has a fish counter on it. This counter generates information on the number of fish migrating up the Dee, which has national (and international) significance as an index site for migratory salmonids.
As part of the repairs, the Environment Agency replaced the resistivity fish counter on the weir. Fishtek were commissioned to fabricate and install the replacement fish counter, including all the electrodes and insulating boards on the weir. We are pleased to say that the job went very well and the new fish counter will be up and running very soon. A few pictures of the installation are below.
