We are pleased to say that we have recently been awarded an exciting contract, advising on the fish passage elements of another hydropower scheme on the Mekong River. This scheme is the Don Sahong hydropower scheme, at the very south of Laos, at Khone Falls (www.dshpp.com).
Fishtek has been commissioned to provide an expert review of the work being done to improve fish passage at the site, as compensation for any loss of upstream fish passage in the channel in which the hydropower scheme is being built. We were awarded the contract as a result of our previous experience on the Mekong River, as well as our significant experience in the area of fish migration and fish pass design.
