There is a lot going on at Fishtek at the moment. We are working on a large number of fish pass designs, including some very large vertical slot passes on the River Severn, working in partnership with Hyder Consulting. This is a fascinating project as the primary species being designed for are the rare shad species, the Twaite Shad and Allis Shad.
Several of our fish pass designs around the country are also being constructed at the moment, with work continuing on the large fish pass at the ‘Denver Complex’. A few photos of the work being done here are below. The fabricated fish pass that is visible in the photographs was fabricated by Fishtek. On one side of the fish pass is the Larinier pass and on the other is a sloping channel, in which eel tiles will be fixed, to enable eels to move upstream.
