We are involved in an incredibly wide range of projects at Fishtek, with the focus being predominantly on fish and eel passage. A recent project (while still a fish pass design) has been a first for us. The project has involved the design of a dynamic, floating notch for installation at the upstream end of a fish pass installed at a coander weir as part of a high-head hydropower scheme.
The dynamic notch maintains a constant flow of water into the fish pass with a varying upstream water level. This keeps energy levels and water velocities constant and optimal for fish passage, while ensuring that the hydropower scheme is able to maximise the quantity of green energy that it produces. If this sounds of interest to you or any projects which you are involved in, then please do get in touch.
