We have just opened a natural bypass channel fish pass, which was designed by Fishtek and constructed in the autumn of last year in conjunction with the Severn Rivers Trust. The pass was left stop-logged over the winter months to prevent wash out and allow the seeded banks to grow and stabilise. Now open, the channel provides and important route for fish passage past a large set of sluices on the River Tern. In addition, the gravel bed of the channel potentially provides spawning habitat for gravel-spawning species such as dace in the river.
